I could really use some recommendations for standout versions of "Standing on the Moon" and "Black Peter".
Anyone care to share their favorites?

I'm in the minority on both of these points it seems

never really cared for SOTM ( although 12-6-89 was the best one I saw )

I like Black Peter a LOT. Here's a couple off the top of my head

picked the aud version on purpose

Hi,

My favorite SOTM, though I haven't heard them all.

I only know one other thing from 1994 - a great So Many Roads

How did I know 10-29-77 was gonna be mentioned? This really is a stand out version though with Jerry playing slide guitar on the solo, which I have never heard before (perhaps it was done in the early 70's versions). Do give 12-3-81 a listen as it may be the equal of 10-29. I dont remember 9-25-81 so I'm going to give that a listen tonight.

Billy...

Will give a listen to 12/3/81...I think they did that song especially well that year.

There are 2 AUD versions of 12/3....do you have a pref. for sound quality on either of those?

I believe this is the source that I chose, but both look to be good. the other source has more low end.

Sweet Peter. Decently played but not great Scarlet>Fire that has a cool vocal call and response in Fire.

Jerry fans Peter

I'd definitely second 12/3/81 that someone mentioned above.

Enjoy

sorry for not posting links

If i had to narrow it down to 5 Standing on the Moons it would have to be 08-21-1993 Autzen Stadium (massive coda jam), 03-16-1994 Rosemont Horizon (2nd best ending), 12-28-1991 (fantastic) Oakland Coliseum, 12-06-1989 Oakland Coliseum (first really titanic version w/ Clarence Clemons), 09-10-1991 MSG (w/ Branford Marsalis)...there's a few others that could be argued top five, but Autzen 93 and Rosemont 94 are my 2 best versions...go to the sbds for the 93 and the 94

As far as Black Peter, I would look to 10-29-1977 Dekalb, 12-01-1979 Stanley Theatre, 04-29-1971 Fillmore East, 12-3-1981 Dane County, 04-18-1982 Hartford Civic Arena...the 77 one is probably the best one out there...

Black Peter

One that's underappreciated:

3/17/91

And a classic:

12/3/81
